Adam Granger, Ph.D.
Since 2021, Adam has overseen the Granger group at the Stanley Center for Psychiatric Research at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard.
Prior to joining the Stanley Center, Adam completed a postdoc in the lab of Bernardo Sabatini at Harvard Medical School, where he studied the synaptic connectivity of multi-transmitter neurons using optogenetics, advanced imaging approaches, and other methods for dissecting neural circuitry and intracellular signaling. He maintains close ties with Bernardo’s lab and an appointment at HMS as a Visiting Scientist.
Adam earned his Ph.D. under Roger Nicoll at the University of California, San Francisco by studying the molecular mechanisms of synaptic plasticity using electrophysiology and mouse genetics.
As a group leader, Adam is dedicated to applying his expertise in synaptic and circuit physiology towards understanding the cerebral cortex and how it is altered in psychiatric disease.
