Tara is a current fourth-year student at Northeastern University, majoring in Behavioral Neuroscience and minoring in Mathematics. She joined in January 2026 for class credit and is now completing a co-op.

Prior to joining the Granger group, Tara interned at two immunology biotech startup companies (TRex Bio Inc. and NextPoint Therapeutics) on the pre-clinical and translational research teams.

Tara is using these past immunology experiences to assist Mauricio dos Santos Pereira in the investigation of neuro-immune interactions as important traits in the development of schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.
